Official Plan Open House to be held June 17 & 18, 2011
Council for the Municipality of Highlands East has initiated a work program to update its Official Plan. An Official Plan is a policy document of Council that establishes policies for the use and management of land in the Municipality. The current Official Plan for the Municipality was approved in 2004 and Section 26 of the Planning Act requires that Official Plans be updated every 5 years. The current Plan is therefore proposed to be updated to reflect current Provincial planning requirements, growth management projections as well as policies that protect the environment features and support future opportunities for economic development in the Municipality.
Interested members of the public are welcome to attend an Open House to review and discuss this important community project. The Open Houses will be held at the Lloyd Watson Memorial Centre in Wilberforce on:
Friday, June 17th, 2011 from 6PM to 8PM
and
Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 10AM to 12 Noon
